Jill Harmon, LCSW-R, CCTP-II

President of Mindfulness Matters Psychotherapy

Jill has over 25 years of experience working with clients across the lifespan, from preschoolers to adults. She draws on a variety of evidence-based approaches—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)—to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs.

She has particular expertise in trauma treatment. Early in her career, Jill served as part of a trauma response team at Ground Zero in the weeks following 9/11, where she provided direct support to survivors and first responders.

A Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York State, Jill previously held licensure in New Jersey as well. She is the President and Founder of Mindfulness Matters Psychotherapy. She earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from New York University in 2000 and has been providing psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families ever since. She is an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, EMDR Certified Therapist, and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Level II (CCTP-II).

Outside of her clinical work, Jill enjoys traveling, reading, cooking, and spending time with her family and her dogs—Edison, Gizmo, and Olive.

Amanda-Snook-Barnes-LMSW-Mindfulness Matters Psychotherapy

Amanda Snook-Barnes, LMSW

Amanda has been practicing for over 10 years as a social worker, working with all age ranges and populations. She graduated from Fordham University in May 2010 with her Master’s Degree in Social Work. She utilizes evidence-based techniques including cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, brief crisis intervention, and trauma-informed care practices.

Amanda is a New York State Licensed Master Social Worker. She provides individual, couple, and family therapy to individuals of various ages and cultural backgrounds.

Amanda believes that making the decision to start therapy shows bravery and great strength.

Her interests include outdoors, hiking, camping, exploring, and spending time with my family and dog Mimi. Amanda is trained in CBT DBT and Trauma informed care.

Kelsey-Stoddard-LMSW-Mindfulness Matters Psychotherapy

Kelsey Stoddard, LMSW, Certified Autism-Informed Professional

Kelsey Stoddard is a State Licensed Master Social Worker who graduated from the State University of New York at Albany in August 2023. Kelsey graduated from SUNY New Paltz in 2012 and worked in the field of infant and toddler mental health while earning her masters degree. During those years she supported the mental health of young children and their caregivers by supporting the critical relationship between the two. She strongly believes in the use of evidence based practices for effective results and uses cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectal behavior therapy, motivational interviewing and solution focused therapy among other techniques in order to serve the individual needs of each client she sees.

Kelsey is currently an elementary school social worker and has experience seeing clients of all ages. She is very passionate about advocating for change and for fair treatment of all human beings.

Kelsey enjoys spending time with her three young children, baking, listening to music and spending time outside.

Samantha MacManus LMSW Mindfulness Matters Psychotherapy

Samantha MacManus, LMSW

Samantha MacManus has been practicing for over 10 years as a social worker, working with diverse populations across various age groups. She graduated from Northeastern University in June 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Human Services and from Adelphi University in May 2008 with a Master’s Degree in Social Work. Samantha utilizes evidence-based techniques, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and mindfulness practices.

Samantha is a New York State Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW). She provides individual, couple, and family therapy to clients of various ages and cultural backgrounds. Culturally competent, Samantha believes that making the decision to start therapy demonstrates bravery and great strength.

Samantha is trained in trauma-informed care, CBT, and Crisis Intervention.

Her interests include spending time with her family, hiking, and writing.

Gina Castelonia, LMSW

Gina Castelonia is a compassionate and experienced therapist with a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Fordham University. Since graduating in 2019, she has dedicated the past four years to helping clients of all ages navigate life’s challenges. Gina has worked in various settings, including schools and private practices, which has provided her with a broad perspective on mental health and wellness.

Gina is especially passionate about advocating for marginalized students in the community. She takes a client-centered approach, ensuring that each person’s unique needs and experiences are at the forefront of her practice. Her therapeutic style is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps clients develop coping strategies and build resilience.

Gina is committed to creating a safe and supportive environment where every client feels heard and empowered to make positive changes in their life.

Her hobbies include bread-making, going for walks, going to the beach, and reading.

Rachel-Van-Tuyl-LMSW-Mindfulness-Matters-Psychotherapy

Rachel Van Tuyl, LMSW

Rachel Van Tuyl is dedicated to helping young individuals navigate the challenges of adolescence, empowering them to thrive in their personal and academic lives. She provides supportive, solution-focused counseling, guidance, and advocacy to teens and their families. Rachel is passionate about fostering a safe, inclusive, and non-judgmental space where teens can freely express themselves and build the skills and confidence necessary to achieve their goals and reach their fullest potential.

Rachel earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) from Adelphi University in 2016.

Outside of her work, she enjoys hiking, spending time with her four children, attending concerts, practicing yoga, and playing video games.

Tineisha-Slater-LMSW Mindfulness Matters Psychotherapy

Tineisha Slater, LMSW

Tineisha Slater is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with a passion for supporting individuals through life’s challenges. Her extensive background includes crisis intervention, trauma response, and community-based mental health services. Tineisha brings a compassionate, strengths-based approach to therapy, drawing on her diverse experience in mobile mental health, police social work, developmental disabilities, and social services.

Tineisha’s work is rooted in meeting clients where they are and fostering resilience and self-advocacy. She has served on crisis teams, facilitated groups on independent living and community engagement, and provided clinical support in both school and community settings. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and informed by evidence-based practices.

In addition to her clinical work, Tineisha is an advocate for underserved populations and a published children’s author promoting healthy habits.

In her free time, Tineisha enjoys spending time in nature exploring new trails, bike riding, and kayaking. She also loves cooking and trying new culinary dishes, and is an avid reader—especially of science fiction.

Navya Sharma Mindfulness-Matters-Psychotherapy

Navya Sharma

Navya joined our practice in August 2022 as our Administrative Assistant, and our clients’ first point of contact. She is a full time college student who freelances on the side. She is a quick learner and a diligent and hardworking person.

She enjoys sports, reading, learning about new cultures and the history behind them, traveling and photographing the moments around her. Other interests include café hopping, love of coffee, reading, traveling, learning new languages and about different cultures, watching anime.
